Welcome! We are excited that your family may soon join our school district.
Use this guide to get started and enroll your child in our schools. If you need any help, give us a call at 360-662-1610.
Step One: Discover Our Schools
Visit our school boundaries page to find out which schools are closest to your new home.
You can learn more about our district or visit any of our school websites to see what we can offer your child.
Most of our students are assigned to attend the schools closest to their homes, but we know that options are important to families. If space is available, you can request to attend a school outside of your attendance area. We give priority to families who live within our district boundaries.
Please call any of our schools to ask us more, or to plan a visit.
Step Two: Register
Once you know which school your child will attend, you’ll need to get a few things ready before you enroll:
Identification, such as a military ID, passport, social security card, passport or driver’s license (please note that you must provide a birth certificate for kindergarten students)
Proof of address, such as military base housing assignment documents, a recent utility bill, mortgage documents or rental agreement
Immunization records (visit the state Department of Health to find immunization requirements)
We’ll also ask you to fill out registration forms and enroll in person at your school.
Step Three: Get Involved
Family and parent involvement is an important part of your child’s academic success. We encourage teachers to keep you updated about your child’s progress. Our schools host conferences in November and other opportunities to find out more about what your child is learning.
You can volunteer in your child’s classroom or go to school events. Our schools also have active parent-teacher-student associations. Talk with your child’s teacher or your school’s principal about more ways you can get involved.
We have resources to help you link learning in the classroom with learning at home. Talk with your child’s teacher, visit our learning standards pages or call our curriculum staff at 360-662-1710.
