Exterior studs and coverings are going up as construction work progresses on the insides of our major building projects. This week’s great weather helps crews make even more progress!

Klahowya Secondary

Windows are being installed on the west addition.

Status: Exterior walls and windows are being installed around the west side addition. Drywall is going up in classrooms, and the auxiliary gym beams are getting fire-protection coating. ▶ See more photos.

What's Next: Crews will continue to work on the west classrooms, auxiliary gym and music room, as well as remaining site work.

Olympic High School

Future seating area

Status: Brick was installed along the back of the new core, with more going up around the front. Crews have installed roofing over classroom, commons and administrative areas. A pedestrian bridge was installed, and the aggregate floors were ground and polished in the classroom wing.  ▶ See more photos.

What's Next: Construction crews will continue to work in multiple shifts, with nearly 120 workers onsite at a time. Contractors and project leaders are reviewing the construction schedule.

CK High & Middle

Exterior of CKHS and CKMS

Status: Roofing is going over the middle school. Framing and protective sheathing went up on the exteriors. Fire protection, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical rough-in work is in progress. Crews are grading the new high school football field and track. ▶ See more photos.

What’s next: Crews plan to put the steel up for the new career and technical education building after Memorial Day.

Safety & Security 

Construction work at Emerald Heights, Silver Ridge and Ridgetop

StatusDesign work has begun for safer entrances at Cottonwood, Esquire Hills, PineCrest, and Woodlands. Architects visited the schools and project leaders met with principals. The first phase of the secure entrance project continues as construction crews work on entrances and locks at Emerald Heights, Ridgetop and Silver Ridge.

What's Next: Schools will prepare for construction in late winter to early spring.
