CTE Advisory Committees

The concept and practice of local Career & Technical Education(CTE) advisory committees has been around for several decades. It's been an effective way to involve the private sector. The primary purpose of advisory councils and program advisory committees is to help improve the quality of instruction in programs that prepare youth and adults for occupations requiring career and technical education. Through the advisory committee process, a cooperative relationship is developed to better serve the interests of both the student and the community.

Advisory members assist the career and technical education program by providing input into the latest and most effective skills needed by business/industry. They also help develop programs, obtain or recommend state-of-the-art equipment, and place students in cooperative programs where skills can be polished through on-the-job experiences.

Members are volunteers who share their expert knowledge of the job tasks and competency requirements for specific occupations. Our committees include:
