Silverdale Elementary Ribbon Cutting
Ribbon Is Cut at Silverdale Elementary

Silverdale Elementary students celebrated their nearly new school. They counted down to zero as their principal officially cut the ribbon on Nov. 4.

All major work is complete on a renovation that substantially changed the school.

Students could hardly wait to walk back through the doors when it opened in September. When the day finally came, they weren’t disappointed.

The school is larger, safer and more inviting. Natural light pours in through the windows. A new entrance guides visitors into the main office before they can enter the school. Technology upgrades, like large touchscreen monitors, are in every classroom. The multipurpose room, library and gym were resituated to give families easier access to school events. An added bonus: when parents attend those events, they’ll also find more parking spaces.

One thing that hasn’t changed? The school’s character. “We’ve always had such a great community here,” said Principal Ninette Rivero. “But now our actual building truly reflects the culture of our students, staff and parents.”

Thank you Central Kitsap community for helping us make this possible!
