Got summer on the brain already? So do we!

We’re planning a wealth of opportunities for our students this summer! Read on to learn more about our free lunches, free books and summer academics.

Free Summer Lunches

Children and teens 18 and younger can get free lunches! Our district will provide lunches between July 17 and Aug. 17. We will serve lunches Monday through Thursday, from 12:30 to 1 p.m., at Woodlands Elementary. Woodlands is at 7420 Central Valley Road NE, Bremerton.

You can find more free lunch sites in neighboring districts too. Call the USDA Summer Meals Hotline at 1-866-348-6479, or visit www.fns.usda.gov/summerfoodrocks.

Free Books with READ Up

The READ Up literacy program helps you build reading as part of your child’s daily summer routine. Free books and reading activities are available for children from birth to 8 years old. READ Up events are at Woodlands at 1 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays from July 18 to Aug. 10. For questions, call Molly Evans at 360-662-1724 or Stacy Roberts at 360-662-1677.

Fairview Middle School will host the classes. We will provide transportation between Fairview and our elementary schools, except nearby Cottonwood.

At the CTE Satellite Academy, high school students can explore career and technical education classes. Options include food science, Aviation Classroom Experience, 2D videogame design and robotics.
