Summer Programs

We offer several options for students who want to learn more over the summer or catch up on credits. We'll post updated information for the 2017-2018 programs in spring of 2018.

Information below was for the 2016-2017 Summer Programs.

Summer Academy 

Summer Academy serves students in grades 5-12. Courses help broaden learning through exploration, skill maintenance/ enhancement and review.

There are options for middle school support and high school credit recovery classes onsite at Fairview Middle School. High school students also have online/ independent study options for credit recovery and initial credit.  

This year, transportation is available for students taking middle school support classes and high school credit recovery classes at Fairview. Buses to Fairview will be provided from most of our elementary schools, except Cottonwood. Please let us know when you register if you will need transportation. CTE Summer Satellite Academy

Students enjoy a health CTE classStudents enrolled in high school for the 2017-18 school year can take a tuition-free, 0.5 credit career and technical education class during the summer.

Classes are offered in partnership with WestSound Technical Skills Center. Classes are July 18 through Aug. 4, 2017 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Available courses include:

  • Business English
  • Food Science
  • Health
  • 2D Video Game Design
  • Aviation Classroom Experience
  • Robotics 1

Native American Cultural Summer Camp Registration

All Native American students enrolled in our Title VII Native American Education program are eligible.

STEM Camps

Registration is now closed for our 2017 Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) camps. Confirmations of enrollment will be sent out by April 21, 2017.   

STEM Camps are open to current Central Kitsap School District students in grades 3–5. Curious minds, positive attitudes and lunch from home are all your child needs to explore STEM fields.

Week-long camps are offered in June, July and August. All camps are held at Fairview Middle School from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. each camp day.

Camps are supported with funding by the Department of Defense Education Activity.
