Please understand that we cannot prepare special meals unless your child has a life-threatening condition. The U.S. Department of Agriculture sets criteria for allergies that qualify for food substitutions. An allergy must result in severe, life-threatening (anaphylactic) reaction to qualify.
Each day, we provide menu options for students. Please check our meal menus and talk with your child about which choices are best.
To request special meals, ask your school nurse for a “Diet Order for Life-Threatening Food Allergies” form. A licensed physician must sign the form. The form helps us understand your child’s medical need for a special diet, what foods your child cannot eat and what foods we should substitute. Please return the completed form to your school nurse or to Health Services.
In addition to school nurses helping to ensure your child is safe, we also put this information into our electronic food service system. The system notifies our Food Services staff who prepare meals and who take payments.
If you have any questions, please call our Food Services department at 360-662-1090.
