Capital Projects

Have you seen the newly built Central Kitsap High and Central Kitsap Middle, addition at Klahowya or remodel projects such as Olympic High or Silverdale Elementary? That’s us! We oversee construction work at Central Kitsap facilities and plan for future projects.

Our long-range facilities plan (updated July 2021) describes the work necessary to provide the facilities our students need to succeed in the 21st century. It details the condition and needs of each of our facilities.

We are wrapping up the second phase of this plan and beginning work on the third phase.

  • Phase III: This phase addresses the need to replace Fairview Middle School.

  • Phase II: The 2016 bond funded this phase. This second phase focused on our secondary schools. We rebuilt CK High and CK Middle, modernized Olympic High and added classrooms and an auxiliary gym to Klahowya. This work ensure that our middle schools and high schools have the lab, engineering, music and other spaces that students need to further grow and be prepared for the future. We also improved security at all schools with new front entrances to control access, updated athletic facilities, improved elementary playgrounds and made critical repairs across the district.

  • Phase I: We kept the promises we made when voters approved the 2011 capital projects measure. Projects included replacing Hawk Elementary at Jackson Park, remodel of Silverdale Elementary, building a new Operations Service Center, upgrades to computers and technology and critical and required repairs across the district.
