Our school board is now accepting nominations and applications to fill the board seat that was vacated by Rob MacDermid. The board will appoint a new director to fill the seat through November 2023. The school board will follow Board Policy 1115P to fill this vacancy.

A candidate must be a registered voter and a resident of Director District 2, which serves Hawk Elementary at Jackson Park, Silverdale Elementary School, Central Kitsap Middle School, and Central Kitsap High School. A map of director boundaries is available from the
Kitsap County Auditor's Office.

Interested candidates are asked to
contact the Superintendent’s Office for application information (or call 360-662-1615). Citizens may also nominate candidates for this position if nominees are residents of Director District 2. Application materials are due by 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 8.

The school board will screen the candidates and conduct interviews with up to five individuals. The board will conduct interviews on March 16; those interviews will be open to the public (watch for more details). The school board hopes to have its newest member seated for its regular meeting on March 22.
