Central Kitsap School District has redrawn our director district boundaries following the 2020 U.S. Census. This work was conducted by Sammamish Data Systems using the latest census data.
All Washington state school districts are required by state law to review and balance the boundaries of their board of director districts every ten years, after each federal census. This helps ensure geographical and population representation on school boards.
Our district is divided into five geographic regions (director districts), one for each board seat. Candidates for school board must run for the seat of the director district in which they live. Proposed changes do not affect the status of our current board members; all reside within the proposed new boundaries of their current director districts.
Proposed director district boundary changes also do not affect school attendance boundaries, which will remain unchanged.
The proposed changes would balance director district boundaries so that all five districts would carry a population average of 14,770 residents:
