Students and a Navy volunteer operate ROvs

Fairview Middle School students dove into the world of undersea robotics for an engaging technology lesson.

Outdoor pools and activities were set up by mentors from Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) Division, Keyport, and Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility (PSNS & IMF).

Students in Ms. Hedegaard's Tech 8 class used remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) to complete several underwater challenges. They worked in small groups requiring them to communicate, problem solve, think critically, and manage their time effectively.
