Audition Process

Sing-Along & Parent Meeting

  • On Saturday, March 14 and Sunday, March 15 the sessions will be identical. You come to one of those days, not both. Each session is from 3-6pm.

  • Mr. Fox will welcome everyone, introduce some of the creative team, and describe some of the amazing show elements and concept for the overall production.

  • We will sing “Part of Your World,” “Poor Unfortunate Souls,” and “Under the Sea” as a warmup and ice breaker. (Songsheets will be projected on the screen.)

  • Mr. Fox will talk more about what is required to be in the show and answer some questions.

  • After the sing-along, Mr. Fox will take ALL PARENTS to the Commons for the Parents Meeting.

Phase 1 Auditions

  • After the general meeting, students entering 3rd through entering 5th grade next year will remain in the theatre to begin dance auditions. They will be taught a short combination to “Under the Sea” and then rotate in small groups to perform the combination for video.

After 3rd-5th grade students have recorded their dance video, if they do not wish to be considered for a featured singing role, they may leave.

  • Students who are entering 6th through 12th grade next year will go with Ms. Dru to the back hallway/practice rooms/green room where she will call small groups into the green room to sing cuts from “Part of Your World,” “Poor Unfortunate Souls,” and “Under the Sea.”

After 6th-12th grade students have sung for Ms. Dru they should wait for Phase 2 to begin which will be their dance audition.

Phase 2 Auditions

  • Students entering 3rd through 5th grade next year, who want to be considered for featured singing or lead roles will go with Ms. Dru (after they have recorded their dance audition video onstage) to the back hallway/practice rooms/green room area where she will bring them into the Green Room to sing a short portion of “Under the Sea.”

  • Students entering 6th through 12th grade next year will move to the stage to learn the dance combination and then, in small groups, perform the steps and be recorded on video.

  • During Phase 2, all students who have recorded their dance audition and have sung are free to leave if Ms. Dru no longer requires them to remain for further singing.

  • No featured character candidate will miss their opportunity to sing for Ms. Dru because they were completing the dance portion of the audition.

Callbacks & FAQs
