About

The center portion of Olympic High School was demolished. In its place, we built a two-story building with modern career and technical education and other permanent classrooms to get students out of portables. The new building also includes a library, auditorium, commons area and a secure entryway. The old library was converted to new science labs and a special education classroom.

Improvements at Olympic High School are possible thanks to our community's support of a capital projects measure in 2016. Work will be complete in late fall 2018.

Why It Was Needed

Parents and community members emphasized the need to get rid of portable classrooms. The proposed plan will add permanent classrooms. Olympic High School was built in 1979. Since then, the needs of employers have changed a lot. Technical education classrooms were dated and no longer supported what students needed to learn.

Project Features

  • Rebuilt core square footage: 88,100
  • New classrooms: 24 plus 2 labs
  • Modern and flexible career & technical classrooms to help students learn 21st century skills
  • Secure entryway
  • Expanded commons
  • A new library
  • New performing arts center
