Summer Musical

CK PAC Summer Musical 2023

Starting in the summer of 2023, the musical theatre production in odd-numbered years will be an ALL-AGES production open to anyone (adults included) in the CKSD area.

Rehearsals for all-ages productions will take place in the evenings and all character roles will be played by age-appropriate actors cast from within our community.

Students from 2nd grade through middle school who wish to participate in the production should be joined in the cast by a parent or guardian "show buddy." Students in high school may participate on their own with parental approval. As with the 2022 summer all-district musical, participation in the program is free of charge. In 2024 (even-numbered years), the all-district summer musical will return featuring an all-youth cast of 3rd-12th graders.

Meredith Willson's The Music Man

Book, Music and Lyrics by
MEREDITH WILLSON

Story by
MEREDITH WILLSON
and FRANKLIN LACEY

There's trouble in River City when a fast-talking salesman gets his heart stolen by the town librarian.

The Music Man follows fast-talking traveling salesman, Harold Hill, as he cons the people of River City, Iowa, into buying instruments and uniforms for a boys' band that he vows to organize – this, despite the fact that he doesn't know a trombone from a treble clef. His plans to skip town with the cash are foiled when he falls for Marian, the librarian, who transforms him into a respectable citizen by curtain's fall.

THE MUSIC MAN Is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI). All authorized performance materials are also supplied by MTI. www.mtishows.com
