Warm wishes for outgoing board directors
Before the meeting on November 29, 2023, we took some time to thank outgoing school board directors Drayton Jackson and Kristin Hay for their service to our community and to our students and staff.
Welcoming new board directors
We also welcomed
two new board directors, Jim Grose and Breezy Mitchell, along with Meghan Hein, who was appointed to the board in May 2022 and elected earlier this month. (Shown in photo from left to right: Director Grose, Director Hein, and Director Mitchell.)
Director Grose retired from Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and has volunteer experience with Cub and Boy Scouts USA and Girl Scouts USA. He and his wife, along with their four children, are graduates of CK Schools.
Director Mitchell is owner and operator of Mitchell Lumber Company and a former registered nurse at Harrison Medical Center ICU. She is also a mother to three children in our district and is a member of the Central Kitsap Montessori Parents Association Board.
Director Hein is a human resources professional for a remote company with employees spread out across the globe. She is a longtime supporter of CK Schools and has a history of serving our community. She was originally selected by the board to serve the remainder of Director Jeanie Schulze’s term, which expired this month.

of office, the school board elected its officers. Directors also waived all compensation for their service.
