Flooring in the new auxiliary gym

We’ve accomplished a lot this school year, and we’re gearing up for even more work this summer. We’ll add a new wing to Silverdale Elementary and begin secure entrance construction at several more schools. We’ll finish the additions at Klahowya, get a large portion of Olympic’s core (including new CTE, music and other classrooms) ready for the first day of school and continue building up our new CK High and CK Middle.

Safety & Security Improvements

Overview of the future Brownsville Entrance

Status: Designs are in the works for the next two phases of secure entrance construction. Work is wrapping up at Ridgetop, Silver Ridge and Emerald Heights.

Work this summer: Work will start late this summer at Brownsville, Esquire Hills, PineCrest and Woodlands. Requests for bids for work at Cottonwood, Cougar Valley, Hawk and Green Mountain will go out in late summer.

CK High & CK Middle

Status: Roofing, windows, exterior insulation, brick veneer, and metal panel installations are in progress. Middle and high school fields and tennis courts have been graded and lights have gone up.

Work this summer: Crews will add a left-turn lane to Anderson Hill Road near the new CKMS entrance. Steel beams for the CTE building will go up. Field work continues, including grandstands for the high school football field.

Klahowya Secondary

Status: Flooring has been installed in the new auxiliary gym. Crews have been working on classrooms, music room and courtyard areas.

Work this summer: Portables are moving out! Crews will finish up classrooms and landscape courtyard areas to ready the additions for students this fall! Stay tuned for grand opening celebration details!

Olympic High

Status: Concrete was poured in the commons area, in time for our Class of 2018 to take the first official class photo in the new core. The construction schedule was revised to ensure that a significant portion of the school will open this fall, including CTE, music and other classrooms. » Read more about the phased opening.

Work this summer: We’re saying goodbye to four portables! Crews are working to ready more classrooms, a new kitchen and a portion of the commons for a fall opening.

Silverdale Elementary

Status: Designs have been finalized for a new five-classroom wing at Silverdale Elementary. » Read more.  

Work this summer: Site and foundation work will start in July, and the building will go up this summer. New classrooms will open this fall, after school starts.
