CKHS new gym

We reached a major milestone as classes began at the new CK Middle. And there’s still plenty of work going on! We’re only seven weeks away from completing major construction at the new CK High. 

In addition to our secondary and security improvement construction, we’re also making progress on projects throughout the district. A new pathway to Lobe Fields and bleachers at Integrity Stadium at Olympic High School provide better access for our families and community members with disabilities. Seismic upgrades and interior improvements have been underway at the Grounds, Maintenance and Custodial building, with work set to wrap up in May. Floor plans are nearing completion for the shared Silverdale Library and administrative area in a portion of the current CK High. And floor plans and cost estimates are coming soon for the proposed theater at Ridgetop Middle School built in partnership with Central Stage Theatre (CSTOCK).

Status: Gym flooring has been installed and auditorium seats have been installed. Drywall is up in the commons and many classrooms. Carpet has been laid in third floor classrooms. Demolition of the old middle school is underway. Construction begins at the auxiliary gym (former CKMS gym).

What’s next: Baseball field construction continues. Demolition of the old warehouse building also begins. The north parking area next to the auxiliary gym will be paved.

Complete! Students started classes, and we officially cut the ribbon on our new CK Middle School!

Safety & Security Improvements

Opening of Woodlands secure entrance and main office

Status: New entrances are finished at Woodlands and PineCrest. Work continues at Clear Creek, Esquire Hills, Fairview, Green Mountain, and Hawk.

What’s next: Construction will soon begin at Cottonwood and Cougar Valley in our final phase of security improvements.

Grandstands at Klahowya

Status: The grandstand’s steel frame is now up.

What’s next: Community sponsor Integrity Roofing, Inc. will begin roof installation.
