March is designated Women’s History Month, and Central Kitsap Schools joins the rest of our nation in honoring and celebrating the many contributions of women in American history. Our students will have opportunities to participate in activities and lessons that focus on celebrating the many contributions of women past and present.

This year’s theme, “Women Who Advocate for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion,” honors women who have been instrumental in sharing the lessons of the women who came before us, helping us understand and connect with each other.
We will continue to highlight and celebrate national history and heritage months as a district and in schools throughout the year. This includes Black History Month (February); Women’s Heritage Month (March); Asian American & Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander Month (May); Pride Month (June); Hispanic/Latin(o/a/x) Heritage Month (Sept. 15-Oct. 15); Disability History Month (October); and Native American Heritage Month (November).
