May is designated Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Month, and this year’s theme is Advancing Leaders Through Innovation.
Central Kitsap Schools joins the rest of our nation in honoring and celebrating the many countless contributions, dynamic cultures, and rich heritage of Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders that enrich and strengthen not only our country but CK's schools and community. Our students will have opportunities to participate in activities and lessons that focus on celebrating the many contributions of our AANHPI community past and present.
We highlight and celebrate national history and heritage months as a district and in schools throughout the year. This includes Black History Month (February); Women’s Heritage Month (March); Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Month (May); Pride Month (June); Hispanic/Latin(o/a/x) Heritage Month (Sept. 15-Oct. 15); Disability History Month (October); and Native American Heritage Month (November).
